I had the pleasure of attending the MARE People & the Sea Conference XIII in Amsterdam, where I spoke on the panel “Rethinking Blue Food Systems: Unlocking the Potential of Small-Scale Fisheries for Sustainable Transformation.”
My talk, “Transforming Seafood Systems: Expert Views on Incentives and Barriers Towards Effective Governance in Seafood Traceability,” shared some preliminary findings from my PhD research.
It was not only a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas with people who share a deep concern for the ocean and the role of society in driving meaningful change, but also a great week to reconnect with scientists I already knew and to meet many new ones.
